Getting Started

Everything you need to place your first order as a buyer

Welcome to Taliento Provisions. This guide walks you through your first login, how to find and order products, what happens after you confirm an order, and how invoices and payments work.

Your Account

Buyer accounts on Taliento Provisions are set up by the platform team. When your account is ready, you will receive an invitation email at the address you provided when requesting access. The email comes from Anthony@taliento-provisions.com.

First login: Click the magic link button in the invitation email. You will be taken directly to your buyer dashboard — no password required on first access.

Return visits: Go to the login page and enter your email address. A new magic link will be sent to your inbox. Each link is valid for 15 minutes. Click it to log in.

If you prefer a password, set one under Settings → Security after your first login. Either method works going forward.

If you do not see the invitation email, check your spam or promotions folder. If the link has expired, contact us and we will send a new one immediately.

Your Dashboard

After logging in, you land on your Buyer Dashboard. This is your home base. It shows:

  • Active orders — orders you have placed that are in progress or awaiting fulfillment
  • Recent invoices — invoices generated from fulfilled orders
  • Pending payments — any unpaid invoices due
  • PAR alerts — products where your on-hand inventory has dropped below your target level

From the sidebar you can access every section of the portal:

Section What it's for
Dashboard Overview of active orders, recent invoices, and alerts
Catalog Browse and order from all active vendors
Orders Your order history and current order status
Invoices Invoice history, payment records
PAR Levels Inventory targets and reorder alerts per product
Settings Payment methods, account details, security

Browsing the Catalog

Go to Catalog in the sidebar. The catalog shows every active product across all vendors on the platform.

Filtering and searching:

  • Search bar — search by product name or keyword
  • Vendor filter — show only products from a specific vendor
  • Category filter — narrow by produce, dairy, proteins, bakery, etc.
  • Availability filter — show only in-stock items, or include pre-order products

Product detail: Click any product to see the full listing — vendor name, description, unit type, pack size, price, minimum order quantity, and any notes the vendor has added. If a vendor has specified a delivery cutoff time or lead time requirement, it appears here.

Pricing is specific to your buyer account and reflects the terms established with each vendor. If you believe a price is incorrect, contact us.

Placing an Order

Orders on this platform are vendor-scoped. Each vendor fulfills their own products independently. A single shopping session can contain orders to multiple vendors — they will be processed and fulfilled separately.

To add a product to your order:

  1. Open the product detail page
  2. Enter a quantity — the minimum order quantity is enforced; you cannot enter less
  3. Click Add to Order

The order indicator in the top navigation bar shows how many items are in your current order and how many vendors are involved. Click it at any time to review what you have added.

To confirm your order:

  1. Click the order indicator in the top navigation bar
  2. Review all line items, quantities, and vendor groupings
  3. Click Confirm Order

You will see a confirmation screen with an order number. Each vendor in your session receives their portion of the order independently.

Once an order is confirmed it is sent directly to the vendor and cannot be modified through the portal. If you need to make a change, contact the vendor directly through the platform or email us at Anthony@taliento-provisions.com as soon as possible.

Understanding Order Status

You can track every order in the Orders section of the sidebar. Each order moves through the following stages:

Status What it means
Pending Order received, waiting for vendor to confirm
Confirmed Vendor has confirmed they can fulfill the order
In Progress Vendor is preparing or packing your order
Dispatched Order is on its way — an invoice has been generated
Fulfilled Delivery complete

You will receive an email notification at each stage. If an order stays in Pending status for more than 24 hours without moving to Confirmed, contact us and we will follow up with the vendor.

Invoices and Payments

Billing works on a 30-day cycle tied to your account. On your billing day each month, the platform automatically generates one statement per vendor covering all orders you placed with them in the past 30 days. You do not need to do anything to trigger this — it runs automatically.

Finding your invoices: Go to Invoices in the sidebar. Each statement shows the vendor, the billing period it covers, the line items from every order in that period, and the total due.

Payment methods: Payment is collected automatically from a saved payment method on your account on or before the due date. To add or update a payment method, go to Settings → Payment Methods. You can save multiple cards and designate a default.

Payment timing: Statements are processed against your saved payment method on their due date. Due dates depend on the payment terms your vendor has set for your account — typically Net 15 or Net 30 days from when the statement is generated. If a payment fails, you will receive an email notification and the statement will show as unpaid in your portal. Update your payment method in Settings and the system will retry.

PAR Levels

PAR (Periodic Automatic Replenishment) levels are optional inventory targets you can set per product. When your on-hand quantity drops below the PAR you have set, the platform sends you an alert.

To set a PAR level:

  1. Go to PAR Levels in the sidebar
  2. Find the product
  3. Enter your target quantity — the amount you want to have on hand at minimum

PAR alerts appear on your dashboard and are sent by email. They are reminders, not automatic orders — you decide when and how much to order.

This is particularly useful for high-frequency staples where running out mid-week creates an operational problem. Set a PAR level high enough to give yourself enough lead time to place an order and receive delivery before you run out.
