Using AI Assistants with Our Docs
How to get step-by-step help from AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT
Every page in this documentation has a Copy for AI button in the top right corner. This guide explains what it does, what AI assistants are genuinely good at, and where the limits are.
What AI Assistants Can Do
An AI assistant — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and others — is software you can have a conversation with. You ask questions in plain English and it responds with explanations, step-by-step guidance, or analysis based on what you give it.
For this documentation, that means you can:
- Ask it to walk you through a process one step at a time
- Describe an error or problem you encountered and get help troubleshooting
- Ask what information you need to gather before starting a complex task
- Get a plain-English explanation of something that feels technical
AI assistants work best when you give them the full context of what you are trying to do. That is what the Copy for AI button is for.
What AI Is Genuinely Good At for Business Tasks
Beyond answering documentation questions, AI assistants handle a range of practical tasks that come up in food and hospitality operations.
Working with spreadsheets and data files If you export order history, inventory counts, or product lists to a spreadsheet, you can share that data with an AI assistant and ask questions about it. Examples:
- "Here is my order history from the last 90 days. Which products do I order most frequently?"
- "I have a CSV of my current inventory. Which items are below my target PAR level?"
- "Can you reformat this spreadsheet into the bulk import template for the catalog?"
AI assistants can read CSV data, spot patterns, reformat columns, flag anomalies, and help you prep files for import — without writing any code.
Drafting and communication
- Writing a professional follow-up to a vendor about a delayed order
- Summarizing a long email thread into key action items
- Drafting notes or specifications for a new product listing
Understanding unfamiliar processes If something in the portal — invoicing, Stripe Connect, PAR levels — feels unclear, you can ask an AI to explain it in simpler terms or walk you through the steps at whatever pace works for you.
Research and comparison If you are evaluating vendors, comparing product specifications, or trying to understand something like payout timing or tax forms, AI assistants can help you think through the question even when the answer is not in a single document.
Working with Stripe's Documentation
If you have questions about your Stripe account — payout timing, identity verification, fees, tax forms — AI assistants are particularly well-suited to help. Stripe's documentation is one of the most thorough and well-structured in the payments industry, and it is heavily represented in the training data of every major AI assistant. Questions about Stripe Connect, 1099 forms, bank account setup, or dispute handling are exactly the kind of procedural, step-by-step questions where AI tools shine.
Stripe also uses the same machine-readable documentation format we use here. Their full documentation index is available at docs.stripe.com/llms.txt — an AI assistant that can browse the web can fetch that file and navigate Stripe's entire documentation library to find the specific page that answers your question.
The workflow is the same as using Copy for AI on this platform:
- Find the relevant Stripe page at docs.stripe.com or support.stripe.com
- Copy the content and paste it to your AI assistant with your question
- Or just describe your situation — AI assistants trained on Stripe's docs can often answer directly
One important limit applies here too: AI assistants cannot access your Stripe account. They cannot see your payout history, your verification status, or your balance. For anything requiring Stripe to look at your specific account, you will need to log into the Stripe Express dashboard or contact Stripe Support directly.
What AI Cannot Access
There are important limits to what an AI assistant can do with this platform, and we want to be direct about them.
AI assistants cannot see inside your account. Your orders, invoices, payment history, Stripe account status, and all financial data live on our servers behind your login. AI assistants have no way to reach that content. When you describe what you see on your screen, the AI takes that at face value — but it cannot independently look up your account or verify any numbers.
We do not have AI integrations. Taliento Provisions does not currently have any integrations that would allow an AI assistant to connect to your account, retrieve your data, or take actions on your behalf. This is intentional. Your financial data — invoices, payment methods, payout records — stays on our systems. We are not passing it to third-party AI services.
If an AI assistant ever claims it can see your account data or asks you to give it your login credentials to "check something" for you, do not do it. That is not a legitimate workflow and it is not something we support.
AI assistants cannot take actions on the platform. They cannot place orders, confirm invoices, update your catalog, or change any settings. Everything that modifies your account requires you to be logged in and acting directly in the portal.
How Copy for AI Works
Click the Copy for AI button on any doc page. It copies the raw text of that documentation to your clipboard — the same content you are reading, but without any of the page formatting.
Then open an AI assistant, paste the copied text, and ask your question alongside it.
The AI can now reference the exact documentation you are working with. You do not need to describe the platform, explain what Taliento Provisions is, or give background context — the doc already does that. Just describe your specific situation and ask your question.
A Few Examples
Stripe Connect onboarding:
I'm a vendor on Taliento Provisions trying to complete my Stripe setup. Here's the guide: [paste]. I'm at the step where Stripe is asking for my EIN but I'm a sole proprietor without one. What should I enter?
Catalog management:
I'm a vendor on Taliento Provisions. Here's the catalog doc: [paste]. I have about 40 products I want to add. Is there a faster way than entering them one at a time?
Buyer getting started:
I just got access to the Taliento Provisions buyer portal. Here's the guide: [paste]. I placed an order yesterday but I'm not sure if it actually went through. How do I check?
Working with exported data:
Here's a CSV export of my recent orders from Taliento Provisions. Can you tell me which vendors I ordered from most in the past 60 days, and what my average order size was per vendor?
Understanding a status:
My Stripe Connect status says "Pending Verification." Here's the Stripe doc: [paste]. How long does this usually take and is there anything I need to do?
What to Keep Private
Do not paste passwords, payment card numbers, bank account credentials, or any information you would not share with a stranger into an AI assistant.
For documentation questions, you do not need any of that. Copy the doc, describe what you are trying to do, ask your question — that is everything an AI assistant needs to help you. If an AI assistant asks for credentials or payment information to answer a documentation question, something has gone wrong.
Our Approach
We use AI tools ourselves. We are not going to pretend otherwise, and we are not going to build a documentation system that makes AI harder to use.
This platform is not an AI company. We do not provide AI services or have any commercial relationship with any AI provider. AI assistants are tools that exist in the world and they happen to be useful for exactly the kind of step-by-step process help that documentation is meant to provide.
We also believe in being transparent about what AI can and cannot do. An honest tool is more useful than an overpromised one.
If you have not used an AI assistant before and want a place to start: Claude and ChatGPT both have free tiers. Either one will work with the Copy for AI button on any doc page here.
